At the Park Close to Dark

Tonight I met my friend Sarah over at the park for the arduous "one more hour until bedtime" time of day. It was getting dark and we were joined by several other families who were working on the same project, the "work out all the remaining energy in your toddler" project. It wasn't long before we were all introducing and intermingling with each other and our children.

About a half hour into our talk-chase children-talk-chase children pattern, a family with a toddler became desperate for the use of a diaper and wipes. It didn't even phase Sarah, she walked back to her car, which wasn't really close to our playground, and retrieved a diaper and set of wipes for the family. They were so relieved. Then we all continued to play until the dark settled making it so we couldn't see eachother's faces or the end of the covered slides.

I know this sort of thing happens in places all over the country, I am just saying, I am glad I live in one of those places.
